There are many bibliographic tools available to help document references, according to a preferred style, collate and share a personal library of references for a research project, and import citations directly into a document.

  • Style manuals and library guides
  • Citation tools on different publishers and library platforms
  • Reference manager tools
    • These helps you cite, collect, and organize a collection of references through a personal account
    • Include add-ons and integrations with word processing environments and web browsers
      • Examples of reputable free tools include Mendeley and Zotero.

Be sure to check and correct any errors in copied references. If in doubt, use the publisher's style manual to guide you.
